The Adreno Youth Carve 3/2mm Chest Zip Steamer is the ideal suit for colder conditions. The chest entry design minimises water flushing through the suits keeping the wearer warmer for longer. The chest zip also allows for better flexibility over traditional back zip wetsuits which is great for growing kids as it allows the suit to stretch as the user grows. Constructed from high quality super stretch linings and super stretch neoprene. Each panel is stitched together using a water tight glued and blind stitched process. The arms and upper torso utilise 2mm super stretch neoprene to maintain flexibility for swimming and paddling while the lower torso and legs utilise 3mm super stretch neoprene to maximise warmth and durability.

Adreno Youth Carve 3/2mm Chest Zip Steamer Features:

  • Super stretch jersey linings inside and outside
  • 2mm super stretch neoprene used on sleeves for maximum mobility while paddling
  • 3mm super stretch neoprene used on lower body and legs for added warmth and protection
  • Knee pads for extra durability
  • Watertight Glued and Blind Stitched Seams
  • Chest Zip entry for maximum flexibility and warmth

Why buy Chest Zip?

Most parents come to me with the same thought: they feel they can only get 1 season out of a wetsuit, due to how fast their groms are growing. This is definitely a concern for anyone buying their grommet a back-zip wetsuit, the traditional style that runs along the spine.

The nature of a zip is such that it can never stretch and is the only part of the entire wetsuit that doesn't stretch. By placing it along the spin, it not only hinders their ability to bend down, crucial in surfing, but means that the suit can't elongate vertically along the spine. As your kid grows and their chest/spine gets longer, the zip doesn't, meaning the suit quickly becomes too short in the torso.

Chest zips don't run down the spine, they run between the shoulders, and unless you're doing your best early morning stretch then you barely elongate that part of your body. It's fair to assume that a chest-zip will be limited as their shoulders get wider but because the zip is short, and there's plenty of neoprene over the shoulders, it's not a concern.
